How do I register for the Virtual ACS Career Fair?

Registering for the Virtual ACS Career Fair is quick and easy. First go to the ACS Careers Jobs Database. Create a Job Seeker account if you do not already have one.

Once you have a Job Seeker account, log in.

Immediately upon logging in, you’ll see a large orange V listed under your account. Follow the instructions to the right of the V, and you’ll instantly be registered for the Virtual Career Fair.

No, there are no fees for participating in any of the Virtual Career Fair activities.

What is the deadline for registering for the Virtual Career Fair?

Job Seekers may register at any time before and even during the Career Fair; however, we strongly recommend that you register as early as possible so that you can review the list of employers and open positions, set up a strong virtual profile, and become familiar with navigating the virtual environment before the Virtual Career Fair begins.

How can I see which employers are attending the Virtual Career Fair?

Log into the ACS Careers Jobs Database, go to your account, and click on “View Attending Employers.” You can also see participating employers at www.acs.org/vcf.

Can I make interview appointments before the Virtual Career Fair begins?

Please note that there is no formal interview scheduling process in the virtual environment. To schedule an interview, contact a prospective candidate directly via chat or email. We strongly encourage you to review the list of attending employers and their open positions so that you are fully prepared to discuss your qualifications during the live event.

Am I guaranteed an interview at the Virtual Career Fair?

Sometimes your credentials may not match the credentials that Career Fair Employers are seeking. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will be interviewed; however, all Virtual Career Fair job seekers will be able to gather both specific employer, and general job and career information, as well as network and attend webcasts presented in the Virtual Auditorium.

Who Should Attend

Do I have to be an ACS member to attend the Virtual Career Fair?

No. The Virtual Career Fair is open to both ACS members and non-members. ACS membership is required to participate in the onsite ACS Career Fair.

Are there any international jobs available via the Virtual Career Fair?

The majority of employers who attend the Virtual Career Fair are seeking to fill positions within the United States; however, there are sometimes opportunities for job seekers in search of employment outside of the United States.

Can non-US citizens participate in the Virtual Career Fair?

The Virtual Career Fair is open to international job seekers; however, you must make sure that prospective employers know your citizenship status as, due to US employment laws, open positions may not be easily available to non-US citizens or non-residents. Employers worldwide are invited to attend the virtual career fair, and every year the number of global employers grows.

Making the Most of the Virtual Environment

Do I need to pre-register for the webcasts?

No, once you’ve registered for the Virtual Career Fair, you do not need to register for any individual event taking place during the Virtual Career Fair.

How can I create a virtual profile in the virtual environment?

The information that you enter in the ACS Careers Jobs Database will automatically transfer to the virtual environment. Prior to the opening of the live event, you’ll receive full instructions that will enable you to edit and add to your profile so that you can maximize your ability to showcase your skills and experience.

You can download the user guide. You will also receive detailed instructions, including an interactive demo, that will enable you to both fully prepare for the event and take full advantage of all the virtual environment’s search, navigation, research, and communication tools throughout the live event.

If I miss the Virtual Career Fair on the live dates, is there a way to access it at a later date?

The virtual environment will remain accessible to registered job seekers for 3 months after the live date. During this period, job seekers will still be able to visit booths and apply for open positions. The booths, however, will not have active staff following the close of the live event.

How long will my resume be visible to employers?

Your resume will be visible during the 2-day live event and for 3 months thereafter.

Can I use a webcam to chat in the virtual environment?

Yes, you can but it is not required. You can use either text chat or webcam chat to communicate.
